The many skirts of Bradshaw

I was having a low day yesterday so I went and watched one of my go to films

'Sex and The City'

(Despite maybe not being quite as good as the series!)

and once again fell in love with the amazing clothes of  Miss Carrie Bradshaw.

Especially the bold choice of skirts/tutu's and dresses which I wish I could get away wearing/could afford.

Maybe I'll ask for one for Christmas!

Lake Retba

Lake Retba

I don't usually like pink,
but this fascinated me the moment I saw it.

I found it though my sister
while quickly rushing though my news-feed on Facebook
and had to stop and just stare in amazement.

(Before researching all about it, in true Eliza style)

Reproductions

I usually dislike reproductions of great works of art,
onto objects such as mugs, tops, umbrellas etc.

However, whilst recently researching for my dissertation I found this graffiti reproduction
 by Dominic Swords
of 'The Great Wave' by Hokusai
 in Coldharbour Lane
 Camberwell
London

A piece that I feel actually captures some of the intentions of Hokusai and creates as near as the feeling of the original print as a reproduction can.

Children's Stories

I blame my parents for my obsession with illustration,
for reading to me stories by the likes of:

Beatrix Potter
Nick Butterworth - Percy and the Park Keeper
 Madonna - The English Roses
Maurice Sendak - Where the wild things are

Natural Forms of Beauty 2

Spotted Lake - British Columbia

After my last post I then got engrossed by some of the natural beauties of this world and I came across this untouched private land.

It reminds me almost of delicately cut or broken glass or water droplets on a shiny surface, or of Gaudi's work, looking at the ideas of natural curves and shapes that have been placed almost by the hands of God.

Natural forms of beauty 1

Pamukkale - Southern Turkey

Whilst doing some research recently,
I was distracted for a while when I discovered this beautiful formation.

I was instantly struck by its alluring grace and form
and felt it had to be shared.
